Khansaheb is working on a number of projects in Abu Dhabi’s oil & gas sector. The work force for these projects is housed at a remote camp in Buhasa. Buhasa camp has been running on diesel generators for several years until Enerwhere took over the complete power supply on the basis of a power purchase agreement (PPA) in March 2016.
The system integrates Enerwhere’s solar generator system with multiple synchronized high-efficiency diesel generators to provide a cost-effective, reliable power supply 24/7.
Daniel Zywietz, Chief Executive Officer of Enerwhere, highlighted the challenges of the project and Enerwhere’s approach:
“The solar fields are built from Enerwhere’s scalable and mobile 25 kW blocks that are containerized in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai. The system is composed of high-efficiency solar modules, string inverters and a steel structure specifically designed for the harsh outdoor conditions in the UAE. Enerwhere has completely standardized the equipment, as well as perfected the on-site assembly and installation process, so that setup can be completed in a few days without heavy machinery.”
